The restoration of two lame legs, a dumb mind, and a withered hand

God gave me an awesome testimony and I would like to share it with you, if you will allow me to. Imagine that you go to sleep and wake up in the hospital, unable to walk, or to talk. You then find out that you were in an accident where you sustained head and spinal injuries. You were in a coma for six months, and you had a tube inserted into your throat (trachea) so that you could breathe, as well as one in your stomach to give you food and water. Imagine that there was also a tube going to the center of your head to relieve the pressure of a swelling brain. That was me- two years ago 2004. When I left the hospital, it was just like I was born again- I had to drink thickened liquids and I had to be spoon-fed. I had to relearn things and wait for my muscles to develop.

Matthew 18:14 says, “So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.” God gave me mercy and gave me a choice: to either follow Him forever or not. I chose to follow; I would rather be disabled for a little while and go to heaven, than to be normal my whole life, and go to hell.

I was living a double life with partying on one side, and with my loving family on the other. I’ve found that the “party life” doesn’t come close to the goodness and fun, that I have with my family. In my timem of being disabled, I’ve learned that the right things at the wrong time are wrong. m For example, me walking is right but if I would have come out of the coma and had been able to walk (or not even have gone into a coma at all), I wouldn’t have learned everything that I have; I wouldn’t have gotten close to God. God has a plan for our lives but if we try to rush through life we crash (each of us in a different way), so that we can learn what we need to.

My accident reminds me of a story that I once heard. It’s about a guy who is driving his new Porsche through a neighborhood really fast. A kid throws a rock and hits the windshield. When the guy gets out the kid says, “I am sorry but no one would stop to help me. My brother fell out of his wheelchair and I can’t lift him. Everyone was going so fast that I couldn’t stop anyone to ask for help.” My accident was God’s way of throwing a rock at me, to help me realize that I already have what really matters in life: a family who loves me unconditionally. Before the accident I was into some really bad things and didn’t care about anybody. I had to be stopped. God got involved, and I am thankful to Him for doing so. If He didn’t, I would be either dead or in jail.

Matthew 16:4 says, “A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a miraculous sign…” So here it is: in Matthew 12:10, Jesus came across a guy with a withered hand and Jesus said to him, “stretch forth your hand.” He stretched it out and his hand was made normal and straight like the other. My left hand was withered and bent like a fist, but was straightened by God. God, and no one else, has done the unthinkable: Hei has brought me from a boy, laying in a hospital bed, who couldn’t walk or talk, with a halo screwed into his skull (because of a broken neck)  and a trachea (so he could breathe)- to a man who, with God, nothing is impossible.

Matthew 17:20 says “I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” I think that when people pray to God and they believe that whatever they prayed for is going to happen then it will happen. Faith is basically believing that something is going to happen. I just believed the smallest amount that I would walk again and here I am walking again. A mustard seed is the smallest seed. I am smaller than a mustard seed, a lot smaller. That’s why it is better to pray in numbers, because there has to be at least one person who really believes it is going to happen. As it gets closer to happening and they really begin to believe that it is going to happen, then it happens; like me walking.

I would like to thank God, because without Him this wouldn’t be possible; my family, for the knowledge of God (which I find very useful) and all their love and support; my ex-girlfriend, because she encouraged alot of my healing, by coming and seeing me in the hospital countless hours (I love her so much but I had to let her go, for her to move on and succeed in life), and her family, for coming and seeing me. They became like a second family to me. You may think that you have reached the end of this story, but in reality, it is only the beginning. I died in my accident, and now I am born again.

Philippians 1:6
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 5;6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, “that He may exalt you” at “the proper time,”

james 4;6 But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.”
